Readers' Mail -- How Can We Get To Stresa???

I've been getting a lot of mail recently regarding transportation. To be more precise, readers want to know how to reach Stresa from other locations on their itinerary. Here are a few recent examples:
_____________________________________________________________________
.
We will be in Torino and want to get to Stresa from there. But we can't find a train. It seems we must go to Milan and take another train to Stresa from there. Is there a better alternative?

Hi Dana, we are coming back to Italy this summer and will definitely be including Stresa in our plans this time. We will be in Cinque Terre before coming to Stresa and my question is: Can we get to Stresa from there in a direct way, or must we go through Milan?

[We] need to figure out how to travel with luggage (as minimal we can manage!) from Como to Stresa. Do you have any suggestions? I’d prefer not to have to go back into Milan and then out again if we can help it.
_____________________________________________________________________________________

There is a theme to these and other mails I receive. Two themes actually... The first is how many readers are concerned with needing to stop in Milan from where they are coming from in order to reach Stresa. My general answer is yes, for most arrivals from other cities in Italy (even Torino) you will need to get to the hub of Milan's large train stations. You'll make a quick and easy transfer to the train which will take you to Stresa. I don't want travelers to think of this as an inconvenience. Just the opposite, this to me is very convenient. Of course you can't get to everywhere from anywhere in a direct route. But you can get to Stresa on a comfortable train in only 35 minutes from Milan, for only a few euro, with many trains available through the day to accomodate your schedule. I hope you'll consider this and make that trip up here.

The second thing I've noticed is that usually Stresa is not the main destination for my readers, unless they are coming here for a specific business conference, or an event. More often Stresa is an add-on. A stop for a few days after arriving in Milan. Or a relaxing finish to a vacation in Italy that included some of the larger, better known sites, Florence, Rome, Venice, these places. I'm thrilled to see people adding-on Stresa, and I hope more of you consider doing so. It is indeed the perfect spot to wind down before heading back to where you live, or to adjust to the time change before starting your vacation. It is only 35 minutes from Malpensa airport in Milan and has a direct shuttle bus from the center of town directly to your terminal. Driving, should you want to, is direct and traffic is almost never a concern. So before, or after, or during, si, I want more and more of you to consider a few days here. You'll be so glad that you did!

Orlando International 4th in Passenger Satisfaction

Orlando International Airport placed fourth in the large U.S. airport category in the 2010 J.D. Power and Associates North American Airport Satisfaction Study rankings.

Orlando International ranked five points behind the number one airport, Detroit, and one point behind Denver International and Minneapolis/St. Paul International, which tied for second.
In 2008 Orlando International ranked third after ranking 14th in 2006.

The rankings are based on airport accessibility, baggage claim, check-in and baggage processing, terminal facilities, security checkpoints and food and retail services.

Although technology has revolutionized air travel during the past decade, the study found passenger satisfaction with airports continues to lag behind that of other aspects of the travel industry. The study found that passenger expectations of basic needs, such as prompt baggage delivery, airport comfort and ease of navigating the airport, are not being met consistently.

Orlando International scored higher on the most recent survey — 690 on a 1,000-point scale in 2010 compared to 675 in 2008. Nationally, satisfaction with airports was considerably lower than satisfaction with hotels, 756, and rental cars, 733.

Mostra Nazionale della Camelia

A new season is beginning...

And with the arrival of spring also arrive the flower shows to kick off the season. This year marks the 44th annual Mostra Nazionale della Camelia di Verbania e di Cannero Riviera, the National Camelia Show. In the two locations, Villa Giulia in Verbania and in the Sala Arch. Pietro Carmine in Cannero Riviera, over 300 varieties of camelias, both older and new, will be on display. There is a theme each year for the camelia show. This year the theme will center around two celebrated cameliophiles from literature. Marguerite Gautier, the courtier in the moving story written in 1848 by Alexander Dumas, "La Dame aux Camelias," and Violetta Valery, the main character of Verdi's Traviata. In Verbania, the inside of the villa is decorated with images taken by celebrated Italian photographer Graziella Viga for her show "La Traviata: Quell'Amor ch'e' Palpito." And in Cannero, visitors will be greeted, in the elegant 19th century salon, by hosts dressed in the attire of that era.

Both locations will offer a sale of camelia plants, books, and other items with a floral theme. And tea will be served, a special tea made from the extract of camelia leaves. Over in Cannero, each day at 2:00 pm, one can also take a stroll through the woods, the Bosco delle Camelia di Cheggio, a beautiful area with a view of the castles of Cannero.

Here's the link to the Web site for Camelia in Mostra: www.cameliainmostra.it

The show will be open Saturday and Sunday, March 20 and 21, In Verbania 10:30 am - 7:00 pm on Saturday and 9:00 am until 7:00 pm. on Sunday. In Cannero, 11:30 am until 7:00 pm on Saturday, 10:00 am until 7:00 pm on Sunday.

I attended the show last year at the beautiful Villa Giulia. Not only were the flowers breathtaking, but there were waiters serving champagne, and the most delightful little appetizers distributed in tiny individual bowls. There were also vendors, selling camelia bushes of various sizes and colors. I couldn't resist buying a bush with white blossoms, which I carefully carried home to Stresa with me on the ferry. It blooms there still, in a large terracotta planter on a lovely terrace.

IMAX movie theaters in Orlando

3-D movies are back in style, and seeing a 3-D movie in an IMAX theater—especially the Oscar-nominated Avatar—is even more incredible on a large IMAX screen. Many theaters are offering the 3-D experience, but it takes a specially designed theater to offer 3-D IMAX.

In the Orlando area, there are four theaters showing IMAX feature films. The AMC Altamonte Mall 18 is north of downtown Orlando in Altamonte Springs off of I-4 and is part of the Altamonte Mall, which is frequented by local residents. Orlando residents and University of Central Florida students on the east side of town tend to gravitate towards the Regal Waterford Lakes Stadium 20 & IMAX theaters. This theater complex is part of the larger Waterford Lakes outdoor shopping, dining and entertainment center.

In the tourist areas, the best place to catch an IMAX film would be at the AMC Loews Universal Cineplex 20 at Universal CityWalk. Keep in mind that visitors usually have to pay for parking at Universal CityWalk. There is also a parking garage (for a fee) by the Regal Pointe Orlando Stadium 20 & IMAX theaters on International Drive, which is part of the Pointe Orlando outdoor mall and across the street from the Orange County Convention Center.

New Screening Process for Foreign Visitors Worries Tourism Leaders

The U.S. government is about to impose another new security requirement on overseas visitors heading for this country — and, once again, the nation's tourism industry is worried about how it might affect business, though this time it supports the measure.

The Electronic System for Travel Authorization, known as "ESTA," is an automated system designed to screen travelers coming from nations where the U.S. doesn't require a visa for entering the country.Click here to read full story

Annual Aviation Camporee Brings Scout to Fantasy of Flight

Earning their aviation merit badges will be an experience that hundreds of Boy Scouts will never forget, as they gather at Central Florida's premier aviation attraction, Fantasy of Flight, for the attraction's Second Annual Aviation Camporee, Friday, March 5 through Sunday, March 7, 2010.

To help the Scouts celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America, Fantasy of Flight will present the attraction's Second Annual Aviation Camporee where scouts can earn their aviation merit badges with the help of skilled aviation experts.

Throughout the action-packed weekend in March, the boys will practice their primitive camping skills while participating in a variety of educational and immersive aviation-themed activities. The Scouts not only will tour Fantasy of Flight and visit real working aircraft maintenance and restoration areas, but also have the chance to talk with aviation mechanics, restoration specialists, and pilots by participating in a variety of special merit badge stations. They also will experience a number of simulators such as piloting a hot air balloon, flying a hang-glider or taking the controls in the cockpit of a real Corsair fighter. In honor of the 100th anniversary of scouting, a special giant scale R/C aircraft demonstration will be performed, courtesy of the Mid-Florida R/C Club.

As a former Boy Scout, Fantasy of Flight creator and founder Kermit Weeks is especially excited to help young Scouts launch their dreams, whatever they may be. "As a young man, I had big dreams, and certainly looked to role models to help me fulfill those dreams. It's my privilege and honor to help foster the hopes and aspirations of today's youth," said Weeks. "I want to encourage these young men to push their boundaries and strive to be all that they can be."

Weeks is not only the creator and founder of the attraction, he is a former world aerobatics champion, airplane designer and children's book author. In 2008, he won a Bronze IPPY Award in the 13th Annual Independent Publisher Book Awards for his children's book, "All of Life is a School" (KWIP Publishing, $19.95).

Prestige Car Rental

I will be at fort lauderdale airport from 2-11march.I want to have a prestige car, like mercedes or audi or volvo..or lexus. Where can I find it at the best price?

My personal knowledge of the car rental industry is restricted to the normal types of vehicles that are rented at your standard car rental agencies... Avis, Budget, Hertz, etc.

You would probably be better off researching vehicle availability and pricing from an exotic or prestige rental location.

Here are a few that you may wish to try, that service FLL:

Fantasy of Flight Living History Series Symposiums

One of the only attractions in the country to bring together legendary World War II heroes to share their firsthand accounts, Fantasy of Flight is now expanding the first of its increasingly popular three-part Living History Series Symposiums by adding a luncheon with the Tuskegee Airmen.

The Tuskegee Airmen symposium, called "They Dared to Fly," takes place Thursday, Feb. 18 through Saturday, Feb. 20 and features several open-forum/question-and-answer sessions with three distinguished Airmen - Dr. Roscoe Brown, Lt. Col. Leo Gray and Lt. Col. Hiram Mann - as they share their recollections of wartime military service during segregated America.

New this year, on Friday, February 19, from noon to 1:30 p.m., Fantasy of Flight will host a special, reservations-only luncheon with limited seating in honor of three of the original aviation veterans, the first African Americans to be trained as WWII military pilots.

The luncheon will be held at the Orlampa Conference Center at Fantasy of Flight. Tickets are $65 plus tax per person and reservations are required. For tickets, visit www.fantasyofflight.com/livinghistory or call 863-984-3500, ext. 220. Corporate tables and individual tickets are available.

Now in its second year, the Tuskegee Airmen portion of the Living History Series takes place annually each February in honor of National Black History Month. A fourth member of the Tuskegee Airmen, Lt. Col. Lee Archer, was also scheduled to appear, but recently passed away.

"We are extremely saddened by the loss of Lt. Col. Lee Archer and we offer our most sincere condolences to his immediate family and his family of Airmen," said Kermit Weeks, Fantasy of Flight founder and creator. "His passing makes us all the more aware of how precious these first-hand accounts from our World War II veterans truly are."

Throughout the three-day event, guests can enjoy breathtaking flight demonstrations featuring one of the fully restored aircraft on display at Fantasy of Flight. Fantasy of Flight's permanent multi-media Tuskegee Airmen exhibit, which also includes previously recorded interviews with several of the pioneering Airmen, provides the perfect backdrop for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the brave men who fought America's enemies abroad while enduring racism at home.

Prior to the Tuskegee Airmen, no U.S. military pilots had been African American. In an effort to undermine Congress' 1941 decision to form an all-black combat unit, the War Department created requirements so stringent they thought the posts could not be filled. The effort backfired, however, when thousands of qualified applicants came forward, many of whom had already participated in civilian pilot training at the historically black Tuskegee Institute. Of the original group of nearly 1,000 trained pilots and 15,000 ground personnel that made up the Tuskegee Airmen, roughly 100 pilots and 200 ground crew are alive today.

The second event in the three-part Living History Series takes place March 25-27. In honor of National Women's History Month, "A Passionate Pursuit" will feature the WASP - Women Airforce Service Pilots - a spirited squadron of pilots who left their homes and jobs at the height of World War II to serve their country as the first American women to fly for the U.S. Military. The event will bring to life the experiences of some of America's most courageous aviators through permanent and semi-permanent exhibits, real aircraft, and most importantly, personal stories from real WASP pilots.

The third series event, "Victory in the Sky," will take place April 17 and will feature the World War II American Fighter Aces. This elite group of combat pilots shot down five or more hostile aircraft in air-to-air combat in World War I and II, as well as Korea and Vietnam. Out of more than 40,000 fighter pilots trained during World War II, only 1,314 had the skill and bravery to become an American Fighter Ace. Along with firsthand accounts from the Fighter Aces, Fantasy of Flight's immersion experiences and meticulously recreated historical exhibits take guests back in time to see, hear and feel what it was like to fly some of America's greatest wartime airplanes. The true stories of these courageous pilots are further brought to life by the world's largest private collection of rare and vintage aircraft, and tours of aircraft restoration and maintenance areas.

During each symposium, Fantasy of Flight will feature "Open Cockpit Days" during which guests are invited to get up close and personal with some of America's most rare vintage aircraft and climb aboard for a once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity.

Fantasy of Flight also hosts a number of other special events throughout the 2010 year, including the 100th Anniversary of Scouting Camporee, March 5- 7; The Blue Max: Scale Remote Controlled (R/C) Challenge and Fly-In, March 12-13; the Sun 'n Fun Splash-In at Fantasy of Flight on Lakes Agnes, April 15; Mustangs & Mustangs-Legends Havin' Fun 2010, April 17, Roar n' Soar, Nov. 13 -14 and many more.

Cost of each Living History symposium is included with Fantasy of Flight admission, which is $28.95 for adults, $14.95 for children ages 6-15, plus 7 percent sales tax. Children 5 and younger are free. Discounts are available for groups of 15 or more. Annual passes are available for $69.95 for adults, $39.95 for children ages 6-15, plus 7 percent sales tax, and are good for one year from the date of purchase. Open Cockpit Days are free for Annual Pass holders and $20 additional for paid guests.

Malaga is a city that is located in southern Spain and on the Costa del Sol that is the coast of the sun and is about hundred km on the east from the strait of Gibraltar. It lies about 120 km north east of strait of Gibraltar and tarifa which is the southernmost point of the continent of Europe and is also about 150 km from the north of Africa. You may also get discounts if you have travelled by some particular flights to that place. You can also hire a car at Malaga to travel around the place as you have a lot to look out for. The castle of sohail, the castle of gibralfaro, the flavian roman theater and the Malaga walls are some of the things that you should never miss when you are there in Malaga.

This is a great city to be in and to enjoy a holiday and make it one that you will remember always.

Alicante airport car hire

Alicante or Alacant is a famous port city of Spain with pleasing boulevards and shopping streets. Alicante is picturesquely situated between the sea and the mountains. People from all over the world visit this historic Mediterranean city where the famous Castle of Santa Barbara and controversial port of Alicante exist. The Castle is the major crown puller which is situated on the hill top of Mount Bencantil giving a magnificent view of whole city. It still has the main church and bishop seat which dates back from XVII century. With so many things to see, this is one such place worth visiting.

Once you get down at the Alicante airport, the next thing on your list is to hire car to go and settle somewhere for sometime before jumping off to see the places around. You can find the counter for hiring cars just before the exits at the airport. Alicante airport offers car hire that is quite cheap as compared to other places. The price does vary according to the time of the year, subject to the rush and the type of car you want to hire. The best thing to do is, plan ahead of time and book everything through an Alicante Airport Car hire, to bring down the unevenness in hire cost.

Whatever you seek, there are a few things you should never compromise on. If possible try to get hold of an AC car as temperatures here can go up to 40 C. The checklist could be little messy. It’s always best if you try Alicante Airport car hire if your travel agency cannot get you a proper option. And yes if you are ready to pay those extra bucks you can get away with a magnificent trip to this port city of Alacante.

Which Car Rental Companies Don't Check Driving Record?

I was wondering if all car rental companies check the DMV driving record. My friend has some moving to do and had asked me to rent a car for her since apparently she can't rent one because of her driving record. I on the other hand would prefer not being a chauffeur so I've been looking around for a place where she could get a car herself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most car rental companies state that your rental is subject to a drivers license check. While most don't do a check every time, there is always the possibility. Your best bet is to check directly with the car rental company that you wish to rent from to find out their exact policy.

You can also check Best Car Rental Tips -- Drivers License Requirements for more info on what the car rental companies check for.

Hope this helps!

Romantic Stresa

CAPPUCCINO HEARTS - love photo
Even the cappuccinos are always romantic...

365 days a year Stresa is, in my opinion, one of the most romantic locations one can imagine. Just stroll along the lungolago, or admire the view from one of the mountaintop locations, or taking a nighttime boatride past the Borromean islands... Stresa exudes romance sempre, always. So how can one top that on il giorno di San Valentino? What places here are extra-specially romantic? From the many special offerings I like the idea of these:

The Hotel Iles des Borromees offered a special Valentine's package which included a room, a romantic candle-lit dinner featuring a special menu of shrimp and squab, and in the morning, a room-service breakfast of champagne and pastries and love cake. The entire package was 176 euro for two people, which made it an incredible discount for this five-star hotel, and what better night to experience such luxury than this one?

Mt. Mottarone and the other ski resorts in the area are also offering special discounts for this weekend. I like this idea as well... a day of skiing, and then a warm and romantic drink of fil de fer by the fireplace would be a wonderful way to spend the day.

Or, make a day trip up to Premia Terme and be pampered in this spa and natural hot springs. Surrounded by snow-covered mountains, relaxing in the saunas and turkish baths in peace and tranquility, sounds a wonderful way to reconnect and relax.

At the beautiful 18th century Villa Giulia in Pallanza there is a special performance today by a baroque ensemble of one of the most romantic stories of all time, that of Orpheus and Eurydice. Perhaps this music, in this setting, followed by a romantic dinner in one of Pallanza's lakefront restaurants, would make this day an unforgettable one.

But the best thing, to me, about all of the above ideas, is that they can be enjoyed on any day of the year. Maybe we need St. Valentines Day to remind us of this fact, that each day puo essere cosi, it can be so, but I think you'll find here in Stresa that you'll be reminded of romance sempre. Take these ideas and thoughts with you, whenever you may be here.
Buon San Valentino a tutti...

To live is to love. Everything else is just details. -- Paolo Coehlo

And don't forget the recent award bestowed on Hotel Belvedere, on Isola Pescatore, by TripAdvisor, as one of the most romantic hotels in Europe.

This recognition of our efforts, along with our incredible hotel partners and the Orange County Convention Center team, in delivering the highest-quality meetings experience at a good value is validation that we are making a positive, discernible difference in the meetings industry,” said Gary C. Sain, president and CEO of the Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau.

High speed rail will link Orlando to Tampa

At long last, high speed rail is coming to Central Florida, linking Orlando to Tampa before the end of the decade. President Obama has recently approved funding for SunRail to link Orlando International Airport with Lakeland and Tampa, in a project that is slated for completion by late 2014 or early 2015. the Proposed Orlando-Tampa train is expected to travel at speeds in excess of 150 miles per hour.

According to a recent article in the Orlando Sentinel, an additional 61 miles of the SunRail route will link DeLand in Volusia County through downtown Orlando to Poinciana in Osceola County. The first 30 miles of the route should be ready in late 2012, with the entire setup coming on line in 2014.

Currently, the most direct route between Orlando and Tampa has been Interstate-4, which connects Tampa on the Gulf Coast with Daytona Beach on the Atlantic Coast. The pros and cons of having high speed rail in Central Florida have been debated for years, but finally the long-imagined project is ready to get underway.

How Will Downtown Orlando Fit into High-Speed Rail?

Central Florida's plan for a fast train has been praised as detailed, thorough and shovel-ready, meaning construction can start with little delay. In other words, a big reason we received the second-largest piece — $1.25 billion — of President Barack Obama’s $8 billion high-speed rail pie is that we were prepared.

Here's a little secret: We aren't as prepared as we may think. At least not when it comes to reaping the full economic benefits that such a train can and should provide.Click here to read full story.

Cinema Nights

[Cineforum+2010.jpeg]

It’s time again in Stresa for Cineforum, the highly successful annual event that brings four diverse and cinematographically renowned films to Stresa. Over the next month, Cineforum 2010 will present the following films in the Palazzina Liberty:

Friday, February 19: Gran Torino, directed by Clint Eastwood

Friday, February 26: Questione di Cuore, by Francesca Archibugi

Friday, March 5: The Millionaire, by Danny Boyle

Friday, March 12: La Felicita’ Porta Fortuna – Happy Go Lucky, by Mike Leigh

Entrance is free, and so, if you happen to in Stresa on one of these evenings and you’d like the opportunity to test your Italian and see a great film, take advantage.

Here's a link to the Comune site, where some information is given (in Italian) about each film: http://www.comune.stresa.vb.it/

Going to the movies while traveling in Italy is indeed a great way to practice listening to Italian and to enjoy a bit of normal, not touristy, everyday activity. I make a theater visit a part of every trip that I make here. It’s usually a reminder of how much more I need to learn, but at least I get to measure my progress in this way. On movie nights with my friend Giuseppe, I don’t challenge myself terribly much. We usually choose a film based on how easy the dialogue will be. Therefore, action films are good. Not too much speaking. Children’s films are also good for me. Movies I’ve already seen in English are definitely better, but I’m not allowed to choose those anymore. With these criteria in mind, some of the films we’ve seen have been “300”, “The Mummy Returns”, and “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”. The cinema experience itself I find to be much the same as mine in the U.S. – but still slightly different. In the theater in Castelletto we buy our ticket, but then we go into the bar at the theater for an aperitivo of wine, beer, or spritz before the film. We enter the theater in the Cineplex where our film of choice is being shown, but we can’t choose our seats; we have assigned ones stamped on the ticket. We have popcorn, and boxes of candy, and too many previews before the film starts. That part’s just the same as here. The film starts. I try to concentrate. Don’t think, don’t translate in my head, just listen. Be in the moment with the film. Giuseppe and the audience all laugh. I have no idea why. Giuseppe looks at me to see if I am laughing, if I get the joke. This throws off my concentration. I try to pay attention again. I pick up an entire section of dialogue. Yay! Then I stop to think about what I just heard and miss the next few minutes. Between listening, trying not to blink or look away, and trying to get my share of popcorn all at the same time, by the end of a film I have had quite a mental workout.

We go to a restaurant after. I think I can relax now, but it isn’t so, because now comes the post-movie quiz. This is where, during pizzas and wine, I ask Giuseppe to ask me trivia questions from the film, to test my comprehension while it is still fresh in my mind. Why did the character do that? What was so-and-so angry about? Where did he say the something-or-other was? Giuseppe is smiling; this time not for the film, but for my complete and total ignorance. I get almost every question wrong. Well! I say… we’ll just have to try again…

Or... If you're up to it, go to see an Italian made film, not just English ones dubbed into Italian! For rainy days or nights, comprehension practice, and just plain fun, movie nights are always some of my favorites.

Here are the two nearby cinemas. I'd google the address to see exactly where they are. The one in Verbania can be reached easily on a bus route, but only during the day; the one in Castelletto really is best reached by car; there is a large and convenient parking lot at the complex.

In Verbania:
Cinema Teatro Sociale
Via G. Castelli, 2, 28922 Verbania

And in Castelletto, near Arona:

Finding a Lower Priced Car Rental

If I book a one-way rental with Thrifty and then a week or so later find the same itinerary at a cheaper price do they allow me to cancel and re-book without penalty?

Yes, it's normally very easy to do this and you can do it several ways.

1) try modifying your existing reservation slightly. (just click Review,Change,Cancel on the homepage) Car rentals are charged by a 24 hour day. If you currently have a pickup and return of noon for example, try changing the return to a half an hour earlier... this wont affect your price... and make the modification. If the rate lowers or changes at all, you should be prompted of the change before you finish the modification.

2)If the price does not lower, or you are not able to modify, you can create a new reservation at the lower rate; As long as you have not prepaid the original rental in advance with your credit card. Most car rental reservations do not require a credit card number to book. Then go back with your original reservation number and cancel the more expensive reservation.

3) You can also try calling the Thrifty toll free reservation number, 1 800-THRIFTY - and ask a reservation agent to either modify your reservation to reflect the new lower rate, or to give you a new reservation at the lower rate.

I hope this helps!

Drew Brees is going to Disney

So how is New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees celebrating his heroic play in Super Bowl XLIV? In the frenzied moments just after his team claimed the National Football League championship Sunday night in South Florida, he stood in front of a TV camera and shouted five words that have become an almost iconic reaction to milestone achievements: "I'm going to Disney World!"

Brees's pronouncement, part of the production for one of TV's most enduring and celebrated commercials, was captured after the Saints' 31-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts - a game during which he earned the MVP honor, completing a Super Bowl record-tying 32 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns. He was 16-for-17 in the second half, twice leading the Saints from behind. It added up to be a catalyst for the Saints' first Super Bowl celebration in team history.

On Monday (Feb. 8), Brees was to go to the place where millions of vacationers celebrate their personal milestone moments - Walt Disney World Resort. He was to be joined in the Magic Kingdom by NFL Youth Football players, who will participate with the Saints star in a Super Bowl celebration parade down Main Street, U.S.A.

This latest commercial is the 42nd of a series that began in 1987 following Super Bowl XXI. The first "I'm going to Disney World" commercial, featuring New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms, was regarded as a groundbreaking concept - a produced national commercial involving a current event, airing on major networks within hours of its conclusion. Brees joins a lineup of people from sports and beyond who have celebrated milestone accomplishments in "I'm going to Disney World" commercials.
