Photography at Nemo - an Equity problem

There's a good thread in MiceChat about why photography at the Nemo musical is not allowed, when photos (even flash) are allowed at the Lion King show. Apparently, the Nemo musical has a special contract with the actors union, Equity, that stipulates no photos. So this is not Disney's rule, but Equity's. Due to the Broadway-like nature of this show, one assumes.

Well, I don't care whose rule it is. It's a stupid rule and Disney should never have agreed. These are tourists on vacation, and they want to take photos. The no flash rule is fine, but anything else is patently ridiculous. I know it's Broadway-like, but hey, THIS ISN'T NEW YORK. It's Disney World, and these people are on vacation.

What's on Your Mind...
