The only downside to “doing Disney” during the holidays would be the crowds. With schools out all over the country during the last two weeks of December, Walt Disney World is in the middle of one of its peak tourist seasons (spring break and summer break are also peak periods). Florida resident season passes usually have a blackout period during the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Being out of school isn’t the only reason why people are attracted to Disney during the holidays, however, events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom, Candlelight Processional at Epcot and the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (pictured) are annual Disney World traditions that draw residents and visitors to the parks every year.
