How do I decline CDW/LDW insurance when booking a car rental online?
CDW/LDW insurance is an optional purchase. When booking a car rental online, you should be given lists of options to choose, usually at step 2 of your rate request (after you've selected city, dates, times and car type). Just make sure not to check any boxes for optional insurance purchases. I've never seen any companies that auto check the box and then you have to deselect it, but make sure to double check before going on to the final price quote.
If you do not see a box to check for optional purchases, such as insurance, just read the terms and conditions of the rental before proceeding to make sure that it's not included. For some companies, they don't offer the options online, they will be offered to you by the counter staff when you go to pick up your car and sign your rental contract.
