Paying Cash for Car Rental
I'm looking to rent a car. I don't have a credit card. I was wondering if I can book the car using a family members credit card and then just pay cash when I return it.
Car rental companies require you to have a credit card in your own name with enough available credit on it to hold for deposit. They even require additional drivers to show credit id as well. Many companies will accept Visa Debit or Visa Check cards (in your name) as credit id, that may be a possibility for you. Just check for credit card requirements or cash rental policies on different car rental websites. Keep in mind that with a cash rental, you would be required be pre approved and leave a large deposit when picking up your rental.
