City Still Working to Keep Hertz’s Corner Cars Program

The Hoboken, N.J. City Council refused to vote for an ordinance designating permanent spots for Hertz Connect cars on city streets, instead approving a resolution to keep them there for 200 days, according to the Hudson Reporter. The program designates permanent spots for Hertz Connect cars on city streets.
A Dec. 14 letter from Hertz tells members that the Corner Cars program provided by Connect by Hertz is "alive and well." No impact has occurred to Connect's service, the letter states.
Connect is working with the Department of Transportation to educate council members on the program's benefits, the letter states. Hertz is asking council members to support an ordinance establishing designated Corner Cars locations throughout the city.

Hoboken's Corner Cars program has signed approximately 1,000 members after only six months. Corner Cars' "Surrender Your Permit" program provides incentives, valued at more than $500, to residents who give up their parking permits. To date, more than 45 residents have given up their parking permits.
