Save Money on One Way Car Rental?

I'm searching for car rental rates for a one way rental from Ohio to Texas. I'll have the car for about a week total and the prices I'm finding are ridiculous!!! How can I save money on this?

One way rentals are notoriously expensive! While it may be hard to get a "cheap" one way rental, there are ways to save money.

Do a lot of comparison shopping! Book as far in advance as you can! Keep the car as few days as possible for the one way portion of your trip. Renting a seperate rental within one area can save you a lot (remember, you're paying the one way daily charge for every day that you have the rental car!)
