Cheaper Car Rental Insurance
I want to take a rental car for 1 month in Warren NJ. I do not have any insurance. Hence with the car rental I would like to take full coverage insurance that covers liability, collision and passenger etc...
All the car rental companies are charging insurance $30 per day. For a month it comes around $900.
Is there any car rental company that provides cheaper insurance??
$30 a day for full coverage insurance is standard for car rental companies... that's what I found as well.
The only other thing that I can suggest to you is to check into other possible methods of coverage.
Most car rental companies carry basic public liability coverage on their vehicles-- coverage for basic third party public liability and property damage.. up to the minimum limits required by state law. When you purchase Additional Liability Insurance or Supplemental Liability Insurance from a car rental company, you are just buying INCREASED coverage, beyond what is required by law.
As far as the collision; thre are four credit cards that come with a rental car loss and damage insurance plan: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. It's important to know that with regards to rental insurance coverage, credit card companies' policies can be very different in regards to who's covered, to what extent, in which vehicles and where.
I suggest that you visit creditcards.com for a great basic overview of credit card coverage.
But note that before you rent a car, it is best that you call your issuing bank to get information on the specific details, especially restrictions and terms and conditions, of your particular credit card's individual policy plan.
You can then compare this with the particulars of the insurance offered by the car rental company to see the difference (if any) between the two. If you feel comfortable with the coverage offered by your credit card (if applicable) this can save you a lot of money.
