Fear the Beard with the Orlando Magic

Do you “fear the beard?” The NBA playoffs are right around the corner, so the Orlando Magic is asking their fans to “Fear the Beard” until the they are in full playoff mode. The Orlando Magic players and Orlando mayor Buddy Dyer have pledged to grow their facial hair until their playoff run is over—hopefully all the way to an NBA title. You don’t have to grow a beard to enjoy a game at Orlando’s Amway Center—the most technologically sophisticated sports arena in North America. There is always something to watch, eat, drink and do at the home of the Orlando Magic. The opening of the Amway Center has led to a revitalization of the Church Street Station area of downtown Orlando, which had been losing visitors over the years to tourist-friendly spots like Downtown Disney and Universal CityWalk. With a brand new sports arena and big name talent like Dwight Howard (known in these parts as “Superman”) the Orlando Magic are fast becoming the team to watch in “The City Beautiful,” which is temporarily being called “The City Beard-is-Full.”
