Renting a Van to go into Mexcio
Can a 3-door passenger van be rented to go to Mexico?
The answer depends on whether or not the car rental companies in the city that you want to rent in will allow a) one of their vehicles to be driven into Mexico... and b) if they do, if they will allow a passenger van to be driven into Mexico.
You can usually only find rental car companies that allow rentals into Mexico from specific locations in Texas, Arizona and California, and usually only through Budget Rent a Car and Hertz; and perhaps with Enterprise (their website lists no specifics, but states that you must contact the rental location directly). Most of the time the car rental companies will not allow vans or specialty vehicles into Mexico, but you would need to check with the car rental company directly.
I would suggest contacting or researching your request through a Budget, Hertz or Enterprise in your area.
You can also check to see if there are any small, local, independantly operated car rental companies in your area (check for car rental companies for your city of choice on yellowpages.com) that will allow a rented van in Mexico as well.
