Best Price for a One Way Rental Car

I will drive from Washington Dulles on June 3 and want to drop the rental car at Tacoma Seattle on June 26. I would like the best deal including CDW and drop off fees. Who should I contact?

The best thing you can do is to check multiple companies for your rental scenario, to make sure that you get the best deal available.

Because one way rentals are so expensive on a daily basis, you may wish to place two seperate car rental reservations, dependind on where you will have the rental car. If you're spending most of your time in Washington, rent a car there and return it and rent a seperate car when you're ready to take your one way trip to Tacoma. That way you'll have less days with a one way rental charge, which can average $100 a day or more... before CDW!

If you plan on picking up at Dulles and heading right for Tacoma, pick up and drop off the car as quickly as possible (fewer days on a one way rental) and then rent a seperate car for the remainder of your time in Tacoma.

If I were you, I would start at a site like Travelocity, Priceline, Orbitz, Kayak.com, etc, where you can compare multiple car rental companies at once. Once you find the cheapest 2 or 3, you can go to those particular car rental company websites to check rates including CDW (note Hertz.com does not give prices for CDW online.. their website states that those prices are only offered at the rental counter - but most other companies provide CDW prices for a rate quote).

If you don't wish to do the research yourself, you may wish to contact a travel agent to research your rental for you, but keep in mind that they may charge a fee to provide that service and book your car.

Hope this helps!
