Great family holiday destinations throughout the seasons

AppId is over the quota

Whether you are travelling to far afield or closer to home, a family holiday can be arranged at any time of the year, what ever the weather.

Who says you can't go abroad for Christmas? And why should you have to wait for the summer holidays to enjoy time away with your family?

As Christmas draws near, here are some great places to go for all the seasons.

Spring

Ever wondered what the spectacular beaches in Mallorca can offer when they are not packed? The small Spanish Island can offer a fun, relaxing experience for all the family without the intensity of crowds at the height of the holiday season. If you are more interested in getting the family active however, there remains the option of a trek in the mountains

Summer

The USA is known for some stunning natural scenery, none more so than the Grand Canyon and the surrounding scenery, home to some of Americas proudest traditions. Why not start at Las Vegas and trace the footsteps of Cowboys and Indians, whilst taking in sites like Monument Valley and Bryce National Park. The journey to these sites alone provides a mesmerising experience, as you travel along the vast Nevada desert on the famous Route 66. A great opportunity for the family to learn and have fun.

Autumn

The euphoria of the summer break can continue with a scenic tour of Italy's most famous island. Encrusted with stunning beaches up and down the coast, Sicily gained its name 'Land of the Volcanoes' for obvious reasons. Trips up Mount Etna are available and offer spectacular views of the surrounding area whilst tours to many of the nature reserves dotted around the island are also recommended. The rich sea life surrounding the island gives you the opportunity to snorkel and explore what the Mediterranean has to offer, although a relaxing sun bathe on the beach is just as popular.

Winter

Embrace the magic of Christmas and explore the winter wonderland Finland has to offer. Engulfed in a stunning crystallised surrounding, the Oulanka National Park is a great base to explore and have fun via sledging, husky safaris and downhill skiing. The Christmas spirit will keep you warm, even if the cosy cabins don't and a reindeer farm nearby is sure to keep you and the children entertained. Snowmobile safaris are also available, should you prefer to give the husky dogs a rest.
