The Top 2 Roms for your Mytouch 3G Slide Smartphone

The Mytouch 3G Slide is a Android smartphone for T-Mobile that features Android 2.2 Froyo, a 600 Mhz processor, 512 MB ram, and a physical QWERTY Keyboard. My major problem with the Mytouch 3G Slide is that the internal memory set aside for apps is very low. With only a few apps, the phone's "low memory" notification will pop up. And for those of you who updated your Mytouch 3G Slide to Android 2.2 will not have S-Off capabilities to utilize the ext partition of your SD card. Luckily, there are roms that give you enough space for your apps.

The first rom I recommend is the Salsa Slide Rom. It's a port of the HTC Salsa smartphone, but it works excellent on the Mytouch 3G slide. It gives you access to 192 MB for your apps despite it being Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread & Sense 2.1. You get the perks of the latest Android operating system, plus a huge amount of storage space for your apps. Not to mention that this rom is amazingly fast, and is perfect for the social media user.

The second rom I would recommend is the CyanogenMod 7 rom. It gives you access to over 100 MB of space for your apps, plus it's super zippy. If you have an Android, chances are you know the Cyanogenmod group of developers. They're the most renown group of developers in the Android market and they create the most high end roms for users. They don't even do it for the money. The problem with this rom (at least for some people) is that it lacks the Sense UI interface... which I find beautiful, but you may not need it. But I personally believe that the Mytouch 3G Slide is meant to have Sense UI on it.

I personally run the Salsa Slide rom because it's super fast and has Sense UI on it. I absolutely love it, and it has brought new life to my Mytouch 3G Slide. But of course, if you don't need Sense UI, or hate it in general, Cyanogenmod 7 should satiate your needs. Both roms will bring new life to your Mytouch 3G Slide smartphone. Enjoy your custom smartphone!
