The Best Tips for Surviving Airport Parking at LAX

We've all been there: stranded at the LAX airport, just waiting endlessly for your flight. Sometimes you arrive early to try to get find a space for your car, only to find that the airport parking at LAX is as unbearable as always. By the time you get your car troubles taken care of, you're either rushing to get to the terminal on time or sitting around aimlessly waiting for the (always) delayed flight to arrive.

While there isn't much you can do about those delays or the LAX airport parking situation, there are ways you can make your time at the airport less painful. A little bit of smart planning and a fair amount of preparation will create an experience far less stressful than it what you are used to. Here are just a few tips I often find myself giving to friends and colleagues:

1) Take the time to secure your car's parking space ahead of time. There are online sites out there which will let you buy a space for your car in advance. The airport parking at LAX is made all the more tolerable when you aren't wasting time attempting to find a spot and potentially missing your flight.
2) You'll want to bring some distractions with you as well. When you finally arrive at the terminal, bring a good book to read or a tablet PC to play around with. Having something on-hand to take your attention away from the wait is always smart.
3) Dress comfortably for your trip. Unless you are planning on getting off the plane and meeting a client or business associate immediately thereafter, grab a cozy sweater or just plain clothes.
4) Stock up on creature comforts for your trip. If you're going to spend any considerable amount of time in the plane, you'll want to make it as relaxing as possible.

The airport parking at LAX doesn't need to be nearly as painful as most commuters allow it to be. By following just a few of the above tips, you can make your next flight less stressful and all-around comfortable. Also remember: a little bit of patience goes a long way. Don't allow LAX airport parking problems or any other inconvenience add to your existing stress. By handling all your travel arrangements far in advance of your flight, you'll have everything you need to enjoy your trip. It's as simple as doing a little bit of preparation ahead of time.
