Rent a Truck or Use a Minivan?
I have to move several boxes and a few small pieces of furniture (end tables and a coffee table). I don't want the hassle of having to rent a great big truck. Would it be possible for me to just rent a minivan for a day, take out the back seats and use it? I'm wondering if the car rental companies allow this.
While it would probably seem easier to do this, most car rental companies have policies that do not allow for the removal of the seats in a minivan. For some companies, the seats in a minivan are actually welded or bolted in so that they cannot be removed. Generally, they don't want their passenger vans used as a cargo vehicle. There are some companies that do offer small cargo vans that would suit your needs and you may be able to find a good deal if you do some searching!
