The Costa de la Luz, or 'Coast of Light,' has a popular and beautiful coastline. There are a number of brilliant nature reserves, and a truly varied feel to the beaches. Some sections of Costa de la Luz are more marshy, others are secluded coves, but the majority are the usual, clean sands of Spain. Car Hire Costa De La Luz

Playa de Castilla

One of the more popular beaches in Costa de la Luz, the Playa de Castilla stretches over around twenty miles and features some incredible white sands and calm waters. It's more sheltered than beaches in other popular parts of Spain, such as the Cadiz coastline, and offers a range of water sports too.
The section of the beach that is east of Matalascanas is only accessible on foot, but its scenic views and spacious sands make it well worth the walk. As a tip, you can also find this part of the beach from Matalascanas and Mazagon more easily, still enjoy the great sands, and have more chance of a beach with space and solitude.
The Parque Nacional de Donana is located beside the Play de Castilla, and is one of the regions finest nature spots. So if you want to explore with the family as well as chill out on the sands, this is a perfect spot.
Barra de El Rompido

Just west of Huelva city, the capital of Costa de la Luz, you can find these great sands. Huelva is a cool city, offering traditional architecture, local bazaars and a range of great restaurants, so it makes sense to hit a beach nearby. Barra El Rompido is accessible from the small towns of La Antilla or El Rompido itself, so there's no long trek to the beach, and plenty of watersports and activities once you get there.

Balona Beach

As an alternative to the more crowded beaches, this location is famous for something entirely different. You'll still find great sands, but wander to the mud cliffs and you can take part in the local tradition of mud bathing. Apparently it's great for the skin.
With variety and quality, Costa de la Luz has beaches to die for.
