Light Up UCF at UCF Arena
The UCF Arena on the University of Central Florida campus is bringing a new tradition to Orlando with Light Up UCF this holiday season. Running from November 14, 2008 until January 2, 2009, Light Up UCF promises 50 nights of music, lights, and ice (which is a little hard to come by in Central Florida even at this time of year).
As part of Light Up UCF, Santa will be appearing nightly inside the UCF Arena lobby from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. from now until December 23. The movie nights through the month of December include a Miracle on 34th Street, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, The Muppet Christmas Carol, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Jingle all the Way, The Polar Express, and Babes in Toyland. The films and the holiday light show in front of the UCF Arena are free.
For just $10 per person, visitors can ice skate at the plaza ice rink in front of the UCF Arena (skate rentals are included with the cost of the ticket). The nearby Community Pavilion will also feature concerts from local high school bands and choirs.
