Things to See Around Orlando: Rising Star at Universal CityWalk

For anyone who has ever had the fantasy of appearing on American Idol, one of the more unique things to see around Orlando is Rising Star at Universal CityWalk. Opened earlier this year to replace the Jazz City club, Rising Star takes karaoke by allowing singers to take center stage as the lead singer of a live band—not a recording, a LIVE band—plus a couple of backup singers to boot.

The cover charge is $7 and there is no extra charge for singing. There are approximately 80 songs to choose from plus a gourmet appetizer menu and a full bar with signature cocktails, which means that you’ll have to be 21 or older to enter, although Thursday nights Rising Star is open to guests ages 18 and older.
