Looking for a one-way car rental for New Year's Eve
I'm looking for a One way car rental from Long Island,NY to metro Boston on December 31st.
I have searched most of the major sites, but when I get to the end, they say "no car available on the date". I have some flexibility between 12/30 and Jan 1st, is there any way to search for a one way rental that only include cars that are actually available?
I started with a check on Travelocity -- Budget, Alamo, National, Avis and Hertz all have one way rentals available for December 30th - January 1st.... but only for an airport pickup and an airport drop off. Most non-airport locations close early on December 31st and are not open at all on January 1st. That could be why you were getting a "not available" message. Try Travelocity, or any booking site, to start your search (you can search several car rental companies at once) and play around with your locations and dates.
If you find a rental scenario you can live with, make sure to also check that car rental companies website directly, to see if you can get the rate any lower there.
Many car rental companies restrict their one-way rentals from airport to airport.
