Affordable Weekend Escapes Bermuda

AppId is over the quota

Are you looking for a weekend escape from your humdrum workweek? What would you think of a weekend escape to Bermuda? Make it a long weekend (oh come on, you have a couple of sick days coming, don't you?) and you'll literally be in heaven. Just think 2-3 days away from the icy winds and cold slush and you can come back to the office sporting a perfectly natural tan. Sound too good to be true? More to the point, does it sound too expensive to be true?

Believe it or not, Bermuda is not as expensive as you might think especially if you live east of the Mississippi. Indeed, a round-trip ticket from New York to Bermuda can be had online for as little as $220! In fact, you'll probably spend more on your hotel than you will on your flight (hotel rates in Bermuda start at about $150 per room, double occupancy rate), but if you go with a friend you end up paying about $75 each per night, which really isn't that bad of a deal.

If you have a chance to plan your weekend escape in advance you may actually be able to land a better deal and you can look into some of the better priced (but usually booked in advance) guest houses such as the Salt Kettle House (an awesome little guest house) or Dawkins Manor, where you can rent one of eight apartments that include a living area and small kitchen.

Regardless of where you stay, you're never more than a $10 taxi ride from the airport or beach and many guest houses and hotels are conveniently located within walking distance of the pristine white beaches that Bermuda is so famous for. But it isn't just the beaches that will make you fall in love with this destination; the sheer convenience of a tropical island located just a 2 hour and 20 minute flight from the East Coast of the US, but it's personality as well.
Packed with personality, Bermuda exudes an old world charm that comes from it being a British colony and still maintaining much of its original flavor.

In St. George's, the architecture dates back to the 1600's and when mixed with the laid back Island culture, it makes for quite the heady mix; sort of like having high English Tea while in a Bikini at poolside.
Mind you there is shopping here too; from fresh produce markets to quaint arts and crafts style stores you won't lack for shopping opportunities, but you'd be far better off renting a scooter (which can be rented and driven for just $40 per day by those 16 years old or older) and taking a gander at the amazing landscapes that makes Bermuda such a choice location for British ex pats and movie stars alike.

Regardless of whether you want to motor around the Island or simply lay on the beach all weekend (or some of both) you will find that a weekend escape to Bermuda may be just what the doctor ordered to get you through the rest of the winter.
