Cobwebs in TL Arcade

Disney parks are rightfully world-famous for a lot of reasons: inventive rides, immersive atmosphere, unique experiences, sterling upkeep. So when a crack appears in that facade, it's glaring. And it distracts from that world-famous "show." When smaller issues creep into the on-stage experience, they may be so small as to escape notice at first, but cumulatively, they do add up to a lessened experience. Visitors may not even be able to put a finger on what's not optimal, but they "feel" it (this often manifests as people thinking that the Disney vacation feels less magical than before, or is overpriced). My term for this taking away of the experience is "declining by degrees." Often, but not always, budget cuts are behind the declines.

The shop at the exit to Tomorrowland is indoors and shares a building with the arcade. I found cobwebs on the central theme structure this weekend. Surely it takes a long time for cobwebs to build up, so this is not a one-night phenomenon. In the "olden" days, Cast Members working in a location would either fix problems themselves, or phone them in to be fixed, and any violation of theme would be taken care of quickly. For cobwebs to be around, that means the area hasn't been cleaned in a long time. It's supposed to look like the future, not Haunted Mansion!
