Introduction
The city of Agra is a historical city in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state of India. It rose to prominence during the reign of the Lodi Dynasty and then the Mughal Empire. It served as the capital of the Mughal Empire in the 16th century. It is also the home to three famous UNESCO world heritage sites, namely The Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri and the Agra Fort, all three of which were built by the Mughal rulers. History
The city has been mentioned in the ancient Hindu epic, the Mahabharata and so the history of the city can be dated back to thousands of years in the past.
