On-duty police officer breaks into car at DHS parking lot; steals money

Deputy Kirk Smurawa was placed on leave without pay for an investigation for petty theft. Smurawa was caught on tape breaking into a customer's car in the parking lot of Disney's Hollywood Studios, taking a purse, returning to his patrol car, and then returning the purse to its original location. He was charged with theft of $100 or more.
